Capital Markets

WMG's Capital Markets business involves trading financial instruments on registered exchanges globally, whilst we also manage a number of dedicated funds across both Fixed Income and Equity asset classes.

“WMG has had a strong and long-standing presence trading Fixed Income and Equities, both on a principal basis and on behalf of our clients”

Brian Kelly - Head of Capital Markets

Our core expertise is structuring tailor-made portfolios with the aim to maximise returns through traditional and alternative investments. At its heart, this entails a commitment to capital preservation, but we are entrepreneurial and nimble, seeking out new asset classes that can deliver value. We do not shy away from complex ownership and asset structures, and have deep restructuring experience. We manage a number of funds and strategies across Credit, Equity (including activist-owned strategic stakes) and Alternatives, such as the WMG Photography Fund and Collectable Car Fund investments.

We take time to understand our clients’ attitudes to risk and construct portfolios accordingly, with a dedicated focus on disciplined risk management. Our Fund Management team has full back office and execution capability and also supports our Wealth Management clients with their portfolio management services.

Equities

The current focus of WMG's equity trading offering is centred around UK mid-cap, pan-European special situations and global opportunities in the natural resources space. The Equity team has been with WMG since inception and has worked together for over 15 years.
